P273ATransmission Friction Element G Apply Time Range/Performance

P273A indicates that the transmission control module (TCM) has detected an abnormal apply time for friction element G, which is a clutch or band inside the automatic transmission. The TCM commands the element to engage and monitors how long it takes for the expected mechanical response, and when that time falls outside the programmed range, it stores this code.
