P25A2Brake System Control Module A Requested MIL Illumination

P25A2 is a generic powertrain code indicating that the brake system control module (often the ABS/stability control module) has requested the powertrain control module to illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL, or check engine light). The code is set when the brake module sends a dedicated MIL request message over the controller area network (CAN) bus, and the engine computer logs that request as a fault.
