DTC codes / P25xx · Vehicle speed, idle control and auxiliary inputs / P252D
P252D indicates that the engine control module has detected an abnormally high voltage on the engine oil quality sensor circuit, which typically means the sensor signal wire is shorted to power or the sensor's internal resistance has shifted out of range. The computer expects a voltage within a calibrated window that reflects the oil's dielectric properties, and a sustained high reading tells it the circuit is not behaving as designed.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
