DTC codes / P23xx · Ignition system and misfire / P233C
P233C indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an abnormally high voltage on the control circuit for fuel pressure regulator C, which is one of several regulators used in some fuel systems. The PCM commands a duty cycle to the regulator solenoid, and the feedback circuit reports a voltage above the expected range, signaling an open circuit, short to power, or a failed regulator.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
