DTC codes / P23xx · Ignition system and misfire / P2331
P2331 means the engine computer (PCM) commanded the ignition coil for cylinder 'K' to fire, but the primary control circuit stayed at a high voltage instead of being pulled low as expected. The PCM detects this by monitoring the coil driver circuit and flags the code when the voltage remains above its threshold for a set period.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
