P22FBNOx Sensor Performance - Sensing Element (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

P22FB indicates that the powertrain control module has detected a performance problem with the sensing element inside the nitrogen oxide (NOx) sensor located in Bank 1 Sensor 1, which is the upstream sensor on the exhaust bank containing cylinder one. The computer monitors the sensor's signal response and internal circuitry, and it sets this code when the sensing element's output does not behave as expected under the conditions the module tests.
