P22AEO2 Sensor Reference Voltage Circuit/Open (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

P22AE indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an open circuit or abnormal voltage on the reference voltage line for the downstream oxygen sensor on bank 1, which is the sensor after the catalytic converter. The PCM monitors this reference voltage to ensure the sensor's heater and signal circuit are functioning correctly, and it sets the code when the voltage falls outside the expected range.
