DTC codes / P0Bxx · Hybrid propulsion / P0B53
P0B53 means the hybrid or electric vehicle battery pack controller has detected an intermittent or erratic signal on the voltage sensing circuit for battery module E. The computer expects a steady voltage reading from that sense line, but the signal drops out, spikes, or jumps around, so the controller cannot trust the cell voltage data it needs for safe battery management.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
