P089AGear Lever X Position Sensor 2 Circuit

P089A indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an electrical fault in the circuit for the second position sensor of the gear lever, often called the transmission range sensor or manual shift sensor. The PCM compares this signal with other range inputs and sets the code when the voltage or rationality check falls outside the expected range.
