P05E1 means the air conditioning (A/C) refrigerant pressure sensor on circuit A is sending an intermittent or erratic signal to the engine computer. The computer expects a steady voltage that rises and falls smoothly with refrigerant pressure, but it has detected sudden jumps, dropouts, or implausible changes that don't match the compressor's operating state.
