P1193 · JaguarO2 Sensor Heater Circuit Open, Inferred Fault

P1193 on a Jaguar means the engine control module (ECM) has detected an open circuit in the heater element of an oxygen (O2) sensor, but the ECM cannot pinpoint which sensor because the fault is inferred from heater current feedback rather than a direct short or open. The heater is what brings the sensor up to operating temperature quickly after a cold start, so an open heater circuit prevents closed-loop fueling from starting promptly.
