P1647 · GMDriver 1 Line 7

P1647 on GM vehicles means the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected a fault on the serial data line it uses to communicate with driver 1, specifically line 7 of that communication bus. The PCM monitors the voltage and message traffic on this line and sets the code when the signal is missing, out of range, or corrupted, which can disable communication with one or more modules.
