P1613 · GMLoss Of DIM Serial Data

P1613 on a GM vehicle means the Body Control Module (BCM) or another module on the serial data bus has lost communication with the Driver Information Module (DIM), which is the instrument cluster that displays mileage, warnings, and driver messages. The computer detected a missing or intermittent serial data message from the DIM over the class 2 or GMLAN data circuit, not a failure inside the DIM itself.
