P1550 · FordPower Steering Pressure Sensor Out of Self-Test Range

P1550 on Ford vehicles means the Power Steering Pressure (PSP) sensor is reporting a voltage outside the range the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) expects during its self-test. The PCM uses this sensor to detect steering load and raise idle speed to prevent stalling, so an out-of-range signal indicates a sensor, wiring, or pressure problem rather than a steering rack failure by itself.
