P1512 · FordIntake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Closed

P1512 on Ford vehicles means the powertrain control module (PCM) commanded the intake manifold runner control (IMRC) to move but the runner position did not change as expected, so the PCM flags the system as stuck closed. The IMRC uses vacuum or an electric actuator to open a set of butterfly valves in the intake manifold, changing the effective runner length for better low-end torque and high-rpm airflow. When the valves stay closed, the engine runs on the long-runner path only, which the PCM detects by comparing commanded state to actual runner position.
