DTC codes / Ford codes / P1153
P1153 on a Ford means the powertrain control module has detected that the bank 2 oxygen sensor is reporting a lean condition that it cannot correct within its normal fuel trim authority. The engine computer has added as much fuel as it can on the bank 2 side and the exhaust still reads too much oxygen, so it flags the fuel control as shifted lean.
Guidance is general and written for Ford vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
