P1111 · BMWEngine Coolant Temperature Radiator Outlet Sensor Low Input

P1111 on BMW vehicles means the engine control module (DME) has detected an abnormally low voltage signal from the radiator outlet coolant temperature sensor, which is the sensor mounted in the lower radiator hose or radiator outlet. The DME expects a voltage within a specific range for the current coolant temperature, and a low input tells it the sensor circuit is shorted to ground or the sensor's internal resistance has dropped out of spec.
